Sharon Marie Major was born August 3, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri to Everett
and Rosie (Tighe) Gorman and passed away November 18, 2017 in Rolla,
Missouri at the age of sixty-six years.
On August 31, 1991, Sharon Marie Gorman was united in marriage to Larry
Gale Major in Salem, Missouri. Sharon enjoyed fishing, camping, and the
outdoors, working in the yard, collecting, and yardsales.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Everett and Rosie Gorman;
brother, Everett Gorman; granddaughter, Jodi Head; great granddaughter,
Felicity Brand; and nephew, Jimmy Helton.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Major, Salem; children, Richard Brown
and wife, Vicki, Columbia, Crystal Kerr and husband, Gary, Salem, Melissa
Burgdorff and husband, Alfred, Edgar Springs, Tammy Oppelt and husband,
Troy, Salem; sisters, Charlotte Myers, Salem, Reba Helton and husband, Jim,
Valley Park; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one
great-great grandchild; extended family and friends.
Sharon will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral service for Sharon Marie Major was held Saturday, November 25,
2017 at the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. Scott Shults officiating.
Special music was provided by Rachel Seidenstricker and George Myers.
Serving as pallbearers were Gary Kerr, Garrick Kerr, Dakota Brown, Troy
Oppelt, George Myers and Dewayne Arthur. Interment was in the Stone Hill
