Ruby Delee Wood      1913 ~ 2017
Ruby Delee Wood was born February 10, 1913 in Shannon County, Missouri
to George and Virgie Mae (Jackson) Taylor and passed away May 18, 2017
in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 104 years.

On September 24, 1932 Ruby Taylor was united in marriage to Lawrence
Wood and to this union two daughters were born.  Ruby was a member of
Grace Community Church.  She enjoyed making lye soap, collecting rocks,
baking pies and cobblers, darning socks, crafts, and taking people to Sunday
School. She won every spelling bee she was in. Ruby loved animals and
raising goats. She had a green thumb when it came to gardening, she knew
every kind of green and sold items at the Farmers Market. Ruby was a good
cook and she loved cornbread and milk.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Lawrence Wood;
granddaughter, Melody McDowell; brothers, Granvil Taylor and Lovell Taylor.

Survivors include her children, Eileen McDowell and husband, Stephen,
Sugar Land, Texas, Janet McDowell and husband, Daniel P., Salem; brother,
Vernie Taylor, St. Louis; sister, Norma Purcell, Salem; grandchildren, Amy
McDowell, Jordan McDowell, Daniel E. McDowell, Matthew B. McDowell,
Andrew L. McDowell; great grandchildren, Daniel G. McDowell and Ethan
McDowell; and many other extended family and friends.

Ruby will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral service for Ruby Delee Wood was held Monday, May 22, 2017 at
Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Pastor Gary Bartle officiating, memories
were shared by family members, special music was provided by Joe Devall
and Shea Wood. Serving as pallbearers were, Dan McDowell, Matt McDowell,
Jordan McDowell, Andrew McDowell, Ethan McDowell and Grant McDowell.
Honorary pallbearers were, Dennis Purcell, Joe Devall and Stephanie Devall.
Interment was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
