|Ronald Kent "Ron" Hedley 1936 ~ 2017
Ronald Kent Hedley Sr. was born May 24, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri to
William Walter and Wilma C. (Craig) Hedley Sr. and passed away October 9,
2017 in Salem, Missouri at the age of eighty-one years.
On September 10, 1956, Ronald Kent Hedley was united in marriage to
Donna Sue Short and they were wed for 57 years. He later married Virginia
Watson Flint. Ron was a salesman for 42 years at Craig Distributing Company
and was the first to reach 1 million dollars in sales. He was a member of
Masonic Lodge Salem AF & AM #225 and was a 33 Degree Mason, member
of the Scottish Rite, and also belonged to the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine over
50 years. Ron enjoyed entertaining, singing, telling jokes, auctioneering,
loved music and was an original member of the Jubilaires Quartet. He
attended 1st Assembly of God in Rolla.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Donna Sue (Short) Hedley; parents,
William and Wilma Hedley Sr.; and brother, William Walter "Bill" Hedley Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Flint Hedley of the home in Salem; children,
Ronald Kent Hedley Jr., Springfield, Kristina K. Rosewell, Springfield; sister,
Patricia and Dale Tallant, Waynesville; grandchildren, Rebecca Hedley,
Yuma, Arizona, Christopher Piatt and wife, Leah, Rolla, Justin Piatt, Rolla,
Nicole Ward and fiancé, Shawn Knight, Columbia; great grandchildren,
Everett and Roman Piatt, and Lianna Cuellar.
Ron will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial service for Ronald Kent Hedley Sr. was held Saturday, October 14,
2017 at the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. Chuck Whitmire
officiating. Special CD selections were played. Both Ron and the mother of his
children, Donna Hedley, were laid to rest in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in
