|Ron Nelson Caraway 1962 ~ 2017
Ron Nelson Caraway was born November 12, 1962 in Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma to Ruel and Carol (Collier) Caraway and passed away November
7, 2017 in Salem, Missouri at the age of fifty-four years.
On July 6, 1985, Ron Nelson Caraway was united in marriage to Patti DeLynn
Brasher in Houston, Texas.
Ron served as Assistant Chief for the Montauk Fire Department and he was a
member of the Patriot Guard. He also was a member of Pleasant Valley
Baptist Church and served as a deacon there.
He enjoyed drawing, skating, taking pictures, collecting unique things, playing
the harmonica, carpentry, blacksmithing, welding, riding motorcycles and
especially "taking the long way home".
He loved his family and enjoyed playing with his grandkids. He also loved the
outdoors, taking long walks, and working in the woods. He never met a
stranger and he would have given the shirt off his back for anyone.
Preceding him in death was his brother, Layne Wendell Caraway.
Survivors include his wife, Patti of the home in Salem; parents, Ruel and
Carol Caraway, Salem; children, Myrenda Caraway, Salem, Austin Caraway,
Linn, Carolyn Whitehouse and husband, Dustin, Salem; sisters, Kristin
Whitaker and husband, Randy, Hot Springs, Arkansas, JaNelle Caraway, St.
Louis; grandchildren, MiraBella, Molli, Evan, Audrey, and Ella.
Ron will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial service for Ron Nelson Caraway was held Saturday, November 11,
2017 at Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. Mark Johnson, Bro. Larry
Nash and Mark Carleton officiating. Special music was provided by Rachel
and Jeremiah Privett, Allie Johnson and Duetta Edwards. A special
presentation was made by local Fire Fighters, Law Enforcement and Patriot
Guard. There was no interment.
