Rita Kay McDonald was born July 21, 1952 in Salem, Missouri to Marvin and
Goldia (Young) Koogler and passed away June 30, 2018 in St. Louis,
Missouri at the age of sixty-five years.
On May 27, 1972, Rita Kay Koogler was united in marriage to Keith McDonald
and to this union three children were born. Rita was a lifelong member of
Grace Community Church. She loved the Lord, church, and her birds. Her
grandkids were among her greatest blessings and joys.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and brother, Jerry Koogler.
Survivors include her husband, Keith McDonald, Salem; children, Christy
Leathers and husband, Jeff, Salem; Nathan McDonald and wife, Amy, Webb
City; Gavin McDonald and wife, Kylie, Rolla; brother, Gerald Koogler and wife,
Jeanette, Licking; sister, Beverly Flanery and husband, Terry, Salem;
grandchildren, Natalie Castro and husband, Gabriel; Landon McDonald,
Noah Leathers, Neely Leathers, Jacob McDonald, Ayla McDonald, Easton
McDonald, and Kinley McDonald; extended family and friends.
Rita will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral service for Rita Kay McDonald was held Friday, July 06, 2018 at the
Grace Community Church with Pastor Shannon Lambert officiating. Special
memories were shared by Nathan McDonald. Special music was provided by
Christy Leathers, Gavin McDonald, Natalie Castro, Noah Leathers, Neely
Leathers and the GCC Praise Team. Serving as pallbearers were Mike Smith,
Mark Tune, Willie White, Shea Wood, Loren Wood and Frank Brooks.
Honorary pallbearers were Lisa Smith, Sherry Tune, Nicole White, Sally
Wood, Kathy Wood and Melissa Brooks. Interment was in the Cedar Grove
Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Mortuary, Salem.
