|Patricia Ann Maledy 1925 ~ 2018
Patricia Ann Maledy departed her earthly life to dwell with her Lord on July
22, 2018 at the age of 92 years.
Patricia was one of four daughters born to Roy Clifford and Ruth Emma
Putman. Patricia was born September 25, 1925. She is preceded in death by
her parents, Roy Clifford and Ruth Emma Putman; sisters, Erna Putman,
Geraldine Hawkins, and Muriel Croft; and her husband of 64 years, Bob
Maledy. She spent her early childhood on the family farm in the Round Pond
Community west of Salem. She was baptized at a young age at the Round
Pond Baptist Church. The family later moved in town. Patricia attended Salem
schools graduating in the class of 1944.
After graduation she was employed as a clerk at the MFA Farmers Exchange
and Kroger Grocery in Salem. Upon his discharge from the U.S. Army in
1945, the high school sweethearts "Bob & Pat" were married February 17,
Together they had 2 sons, Charles R. and John E. Maledy. Patricia Maledy is
survived by her two sons; Charles and wife, Cindy, and John and wife, Linda,
all of Salem, Missouri. Surviving grandsons are Charles Grant Maledy and
wife, Catherine of Sedalia, Missouri; Dr. David R. Maledy and wife, Amy of St.
Louis, Missouri; and Kevin A. Maledy of Columbia, Missouri. Great
grandchildren are Camden Grant and Cameron Grace Maledy of Sedalia,
Missouri; and Edmund James and Lincoln John Maledy of St. Louis, Missouri.
In addition she is survived by 2 nieces; Sandy Dobbins and spouse, Steve of
Salem; and Charlotte Scholl and spouse, Dennis of Sedalia, Missouri.
Surviving nephew is Douglas Croft and spouse, Eva of Paso Robles,
Patricia devoted her life as a wife, mother and workmate in the family
endeavors; first on the Meramec Valley farm and later in the family car
dealership, Maledy Motors. She enjoyed socializing, entertaining friends and
family, travel, and her church. In their travels she and Bob visited 50 states
and 33 countries and provinces. She has been a member of Salem United
Methodist Church for over 60 years. She particularly enjoyed United
Methodist Women, her church circle, spring luncheon, and annual bazaar.
Her family was her special joy, she so much looked forward to their visits.
Patricia Maledy was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great
grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt and friend. She will be fondly
remembered by all who knew her.
Memorial service for Patricia Maledy was held Sunday, August 05, 2018 at
the Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. Barry Baugh officiating.
Readings were given by Daughters in law, Cindy Maledy and Linda Maledy.
Special music was provided by Sara Pines, Dawn Schumer, Kim Shelton,
Kristi Craig and Bill Bryant. Private interment was in the Cedar Grove
Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Wilson Mortuary, Salem.
