Judith Ann “Judy” Elgin, age 68, of Salem, Missouri, passed away April 3,
Judith Ann Elgin was born November 25, 1949 in St. Louis County, Missouri
to James and Edna (Farrar) Akers and passed away April 3, 2018 in Salem,
Missouri at the age of sixty-eight years.
On April 2, 1968, Judy Akers was united in marriage to Jim Elgin in St. Louis,
Missouri. Judy enjoyed shopping and cooking. She was a member of Dry
Fork Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents, James and Edna Akers; husband,
Jim Elgin; daughter, Allison Elgin; brothers, William E. Akers, George M.
Akers, Donald D. Akers; sisters, Freda Overby, Helen Stewart, Ruby Ford,
and Delores Wakefield.
Survivors include her children, James Elgin and wife, Sherry, Salem, Lisa
Elgin, Park Hills; brothers, Gerald Akers and wife, Patsy, Salem, Larry Akers,
and wife, Ruth, De Soto; sisters, Erma Cooper and husband, Albert, Pacific,
Dixie Otteson, Texas State, Joan Bourne and husband, Jim, El Paso, Texas;
grandchildren, Lauren Barton and husband, Joseph, Salem, Lindsey Hedden
and husband, Jesse, Park Hills, Michael Case, Park Hills, Stephanie Sheets,
Salem, Mikayla Elgin, Salem; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews,
extended family and friends.
Judith will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral service for Judith Ann Elgin was held Friday, April 06, 2018 at Wilson
Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. Joe Hubbs and Bro. Josh Akers officiating,
special CD selections were played. Serving as pallbearers were, Corey
Purcell, Brice Mullins, Josh Akers, Curtis Wolff, James Ray and Gerald
Duncan, honorary pallbearers were, Jimmy Elgin, Jerry Akers and James Day.
Interment was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
