|Joel Lee "Joe" Devall 1947 ~ 2018
Joel Lee "Joe" Devall was born July 29, 1947 in Nettleton, Mississippi to
James and Edith (Callahan) Devall and passed away March 28, 2018 in
Columbia, Missouri at the age of seventy years.
On December 12, 1970, Joe Devall was united in marriage to Darlene Purcell.
Joe honorably served in the United States Army. He enjoyed farming and
feeding his cattle, fishing, hunting, and playing music. Joe was a licensed pilot
and enjoyed flying. He loved to watch The Andy Griffith Show and HGTV and
watching movies with Stephanie. Joe attended Grace Community Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, James and Edith Devall; and
brother, Dan Devall.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Devall, Salem; daughter, Stephanie
Devall, Salem; brother, Frank Devall and wife, Doris, Arizona State; sisters,
Carol Harrison, St. James, Marilyn Houser, St. James, Annell Hounshell and
husband, Brian, Arizona State; mother in law, Norma Purcell, Salem; brother
in law, Dennis Purcell and wife, Renee, Salem; several nieces, nephews,
extended family and friends.
Joe will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral service for Joel Lee “Joe” Devall was held Monday, April 02, 2018 at
Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. John Atchison, Bro. Jim Privett,
Dennis Purcell and Crystal Whittier officiating, music was provided by Crystal
Whittier. Serving as pallbearers were, Carl Warren, Ed McElfresh, Philip
Titus, Chris Dooley, Frank Devall, Sheldon Burk, Bob Cole and Darrell Skiles.
Honorary pallbearers were, Dan McDowell, Justin Dooley and Terry Comia.
Funeral procession was led by members of the Patriot Guard Riders.
Interment was in the Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
