|David O. Gray Sr. 1936 ~ 2017
David Orin Gray Sr. was born October 18, 1936 in Darien, Missouri to Ordra
and Mamie Marie (Berry) Gray and passed away November 18, 2017 in
Salem, Missouri at the age of eighty-one years.
On December 29, 1967, David Orin Gray Sr. was united in marriage to Joyce
Lorene Curley in Salem, Missouri. David enjoyed Cardinals Baseball, being
with his kids and grandkids, playing ball with his grandkids and loved having
family dinners. David attended church as a young boy and had recently
professed his faith in Jesus Christ.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ordra and Marie Gray; brother,
Clifton Gray; sisters, Lorene Grogan and Mildred Gray; great granddaughter,
Kennedy Marie Bollinger; and brother in law, Jim Sisco.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home in Salem; children, Donnie
Gray and wife, Donnalyn, Salem, Glenda Bollinger, Salem, David Gray Jr. and
wife, Amanda, Salem, Katrina Heitman and husband, Aaron, Rolla; brother,
Roger Gray and wife, Debbie, Salem; sisters, Dorlene Shults and husband,
Bill, Salem, Cleone Sisco, Salem; brother in law, Darrell Grogan, Salem; sister
in law, Bonnie Gray, Salem; grandchildren, Erin Roehrs, Jason Gray, Amy
Gray, Josh Bollinger, David Gray III, Jonah Heitman, Adrianna Heitman, Elijah
Heitman, Dawson Gray, Devin Gray; great grandchildren, Chandler, Delaney,
Ava, Josephine, Ava, Kasyn, Stella, and Jaxon; several nieces, nephews,
extended family and friends.
David will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral service for David O. Gray Sr. was held Wednesday, November 22,
2017 at the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. Lyndell Decker
officiating. Erin Roehrs and Jonah Heitman shared special memories. Special
CD selections were played. Serving as pallbearers were Jason Gray, Josh
Bollinger, David Gray III, Jonah Heitman, Elijah Heitman, Dawson Gray and
Devin Gray. Honorary pallbearers were Erin Roehrs, Amy Gray and Adrianna
Heitman. Interment was in the Green Forest Cemetery.
